Charleston Zine Fest 5.0
Charleston Zine Fest returns with zine makers from around the nation. Somewhere at the intersection of magazine, fandom and ingenuity lies the zine, often defined as a small-circulation DIY print publication. The difficulty in pinning down zines is that they can be whatever the creator wants them to be. Typically self-published in every way, including printing and design, these little gems have seen life as musical documents, anarchist statements and story books.

July 30. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Free to attend. Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art at the College of Charleston. 161 Calhoun St. Downtown. facebook.com/charlestonzinefest

Hatha & Hops Brewery Yoga

Start your Sunday with bending and breathing at a brewery. Come for the yoga, stay for a beer. Bring your own mat. Children are welcome as long as they can participate (just don’t ask for Two Blokes to give them a pint). Hatha yoga involves a set of physical postures and breathing techniques. Hatha yoga poses are practiced more slowly and with more static holding postures than a Vinyasa flow or Ashtanga class.

July 31. 11-11:45 a.m. $15 with a pint/$12 without. Two Blokes Brewing. 547 Long Point Road #101. Mount Pleasant. twoblokesbrewing.com
